My Counselling Approach

I provide a safe, private and respectful place for you to talk and sort out your situation. Most of all, this space is non-judgemental. It is my strong belief that every client I see has value, regardless of choices made, or difficulties experienced.

I work with the whole person: mind, spirit, body, feelings, thoughts, actions. And my approach is empowering, focused on outcomes, flexible and personalised.

Your values, beliefs, goals and hopes are central to the work we do together. As a counsellor, I do not “do things to you” or work to a program: what we do is relational, real, and sets out to be useful in the real world.

Ethical practice is a core value for me. This means that I maintain practices that ensure I meet all elements of the code of conduct for my profession, including adhering to strict confidentiality requirements. As the client, you will be treated in a professional and discreet manner at all times.

It’s not all dirge and gloom: there is often a playful, lighter side to the serious problems of life. So sometimes you may find yourself laughing, as part of the process. It can be a great way to relax and find new solutions to old problems.
